Nancy Liu | Founder

​

Nancy started her Abacus and Mental Arithmetic experience in junior high, Nancy

quickly rose through the ranks and became a school

representative. She represented her junior high school in

Abacus and Mental Arithmetic competitions throughout the

island in Taiwan as well as neighboring Asian countries such

as Japan and Korea. In 1996, not long after she came to the

United States, she discovered that there was a fledging Abacus and Mental

Arithmetic organization here in the SF Bay Area, and enrolled soon after in the 

Teachers' Training Course of the Chinese American Abacus Association. She

has served on the Board of Directors of CAAA since 1999. In 2006, Nancy was

also elected as President of the Northern California Branch of the Chinese

American Abacus Association for a two years term. 

​In 2014, Nancy co-founded the Orion Abacus Association and serves on the

board. Elected as CFO and is also on the Board of Directors.

​

Nancy enjoys teaching because watching the students absorb the material and

experience growth gives her a sense of accomplishment. As a child, she enjoyed

learning this skill and now as an adult, she is glad to have the opportunity to

pass on this heritage to children today.
